During the month of August 2020, we celebrated National Women’s Day by advocating for an end in Gender Based Violence against Women. Women’s right to live free from violence is upheld by international agreements such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the 1993 UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women. GBV is a critical rights violation committed against people based on their gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. We continue to encourage people to speak out and report Women Abuse to GBV Command Centre by calling 0800 428 428. We also gave away groceries to women in all our branches nationwide.
